A challenging site
This small suburban site came with quite a challenge: not only did the block slope quite steeply downhill to the rear of the house, but there was also a considerable slope sideways, across the block.
The task was to create several usable ‘rooms’ in the garden. This was achieved by carving out flat, restful areas into the slopes, thereby also increasing the perceived size of the block.
A small Japanese-inspired garden was created at the front of the house.
